WSLB believes in the AA tradition of "give it away to keep it". Hence a Train the Trainer (T3WS) Course.
Since 2008 when a group of 8 AAs did the first Step Workshop, the effectiveness and impact on life that were observable attracted others to ask if they could join in. Soon AA Groups organised an SWS for their own members initially and with time, it has grown to AAs participating from further away.
WSLB's primary purpose is to carry the message of recovery through living the 12 steps, to every corner of the world.
WSLB believes in attraction rather than promotion. It does not organise (or promote) any workshops on its own. That is left to Groups who, having heard of the work a colleague has done in the SWS or PWS, want to organise one themselves locally, for those who wish to participate of their own free will.
The T3 Workshop runs over 6 months or so, culminating in an intensive 7 day Intensive. The applicants (WSAs) are from a pool of people who have done and assisted in SWS at least six times, and participated in one PWS at least, and are committed to sharing their ESH with others freely.
They start with assisting in creating, organising and managing SWSs in their surrounding areas. During this period, they also have audio, video and textual material to master. Not all applicants are expected to make it to phase 2, where they are trained in the course material of the SWS and practice leading individual sections.
The group has its own e-Space and frequent and constant coaching goes on, amongst themselves and by the WSLB. In addition, those who make it to phase 2 have a platform to share their ESH (Experience Strength & Hope) on each topic with members of that group, attempting to deepen their knowledge and skills by answering questions posed by attending members. This is effective and strong training indeed, as the WSAs (WSL Applicants) are indeed new to this work at the level of imparting it to others.
WSAs who pass this phase 2 are then invited to an Intensive workshop done over 7 days. This T3-Intensive covers in-depth work on themselves, the SWS and WSLB. Those who pass this Intensive workshop are Candidated to lead an SWS with a WSL supporting them. After two relatively small SWSs, the WSL is re-certified in the next T3WS to lead independently in all SWSs conducted by the WSLB.
The T3 is not for the casual person. It is for those who have a passion to carry the message of recovery using the 12 steps of AA and to actually practice it in all their affairs.
